In the program “Morning Coffee with Entrepreneurs”, broadcast at 7:00 AM every Saturday on HTV7, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khue – General Director of Lotus Packaging (Bong Sen Plastics Technology Co., Ltd.) – shared an inspiring story about his entrepreneurial journey, business philosophy, and the company’s sustainable development direction.
Founded in 1990 in Germany, Lotus – symbolized by the lotus flower representing purity, wisdom, and resilience – established its Vietnam office in 1994 and officially began operations in late 1995.
As a Vietnamese expatriate who spent nearly 30 years studying and working in Europe, Mr. Khue returned to Vietnam driven by a promise he made to the principal of Chu Van An High School: to one day contribute to his homeland.

During the early years back in Vietnam, he worked tirelessly—often riding his motorbike long distances and sleeping at the office for nearly five years. This unwavering determination helped Lotus become the largest plastic exporter in Vietnam by 2009, maintaining this position until 2013 with an export revenue of USD 60 million.
In 2013, he made a strategic decision to divest the traditional plastics segment to pursue a new direction—focusing on sustainable and eco-friendly products for the future.
Lotus Packaging has built a strong presence in major global markets, including:
North America (the United States, Canada)
Japan
Australia, New Zealand
Europe

Sharing on HTV7, Mr. Khue emphasized:
“Credibility, humility, creativity, and deep cultural understanding of each market are the keys to Lotus’ success.”
These principles have enabled Lotus to maintain a stable and loyal international customer base for nearly three decades.

One of the highlights Mr. Khue shared was the company’s distinctive “joined hands circle” culture—symbolizing unity, solidarity, and shared purpose among all members.
At Lotus, people are always at the heart of development:
A friendly, creative, and inspiring work environment
A high-quality 24/24 cafeteria
Housing support for factory workers
Overseas training programs in Germany for skill and mindset development
Many Lotus employees have been recognized by German partners for their professionalism, discipline, and strong work ethic.
According to Mr. Khue, green manufacturing means optimizing energy and raw materials, reducing carbon footprints, saving costs, and ensuring high product performance.

Lotus is currently one of the pioneers in recycled plastics and biodegradable materials, with key product lines including:
Envelopes made from 100% ocean-bound plastic waste, environmentally friendly
Biodegradable products certified with Germany’s Blue Angel eco-label
Compostable bags used in Germany’s Metro supermarket system, meeting strict requirements for frozen food storage
Lotus products are exported widely to the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, and Europe—contributing to circular economy initiatives and reducing global plastic waste.

In the final part of the program, Mr. Khue shared Lotus Packaging’s future strategy:
Continuously investing in advanced technology for recycled and biodegradable plastics
Increasing production speed while reducing costs without compromising quality
Positioning Lotus as a leading green manufacturer in Vietnam and worldwide
